Everybody else around here has a website about a thing. Building the website turns out to be the easy part — you just need the thing first. So this is the other kind of website: the one made out of every site you could have been handed, and none of them are right.
There are — of them. Here are twelve.
named
This site is about —.
— other versions of this page stopped existing the moment you typed that. This is the one that's left, and it is the only one that was ever going to be right.
The sites that were never built
Each of these took about four seconds to invent and would have taken a weekend to build. That is the whole problem in one sentence. Making a website about something is not hard. Knowing the something is hard.
Open any of them. They are finished — title, subject, colour, the works. They are just about a guess.
You ruled out every one of them. That's fine. It was never in the list.
None of these exist. The addresses go nowhere. If one is definitely wrong, rule it out — knowing what it isn't still counts.
Eight of those stay blank. They stay blank on purpose. One field is not a person, and a page that filled the rest in for you would just be guessing again with extra steps.
Keep a record
The page only knows the word. You know the rest — the first time, who showed you, why it stuck, what you are currently annoyed about. Put it below and it stops being the site's guess and starts being the record.
Nothing written down yet. There is no wrong thing to put here.
The record
Everything this browser has decided about you, in the order it decided it. Nothing here gets erased — a decision you take back stays on the list with a line through it. Changing your mind is not a mistake; it is most of how anybody figures anybody out.
Nothing decided yet. That is an accurate record.

None of these. It's .
Why this page is empty on purpose
The easy version of this was one guess. Pick something a kid your age is supposed to like, build it in an afternoon, hand it over. You would have gotten a very nice website about somebody else.
So: the honest version. Somewhere in that catalogue is a version of this page that is entirely about , and there was no way to find it from here. What there was a way to do was build the frame properly, size it for , and leave the one box that only you can fill.
It has been holding a space for since the morning it was written, which is starting to get a little embarrassing. It will be wrong again eventually — you will change and the site should. Say a different word and it changes with you.
Back in the catalogue. The offer stands.
